Technology.

How cool is technology?

The single most incredible concept that exists.

Some have chosen through fear or indifference to ignore it and bad luck I say. Technology takes many forms and I will delve briefly into those areas I find particularly cool. One of my favourite web pages at the moment is Slashot! Interestingly, they call it news for nerds. I'll let you be the judge.

Computers and cable internet. Let us get this straight. No home should be without them. Its a profound experience. There is nothing you can't do with a computer - you can listen to music, watch a DVD, learn something new, browse a newsgroup, set up your personal web-page, or send email.

If you want to be particularly challenged, purchase the parts to build a computer from scratch. A little technical knowledge and an emergency contact is all you need.  My favourite computing site is here. Check it.

Video gaming. Now whether it be PC, Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation 1 and 2 or the Microsoft X-Box, there are not enough hours in the day to enjoy playing video games. At the moment, I think the PS2 is really kicking arse. The quality of games around mean I could go into permanent retirement. Permanently.

Home theatre. Widescreen television, DVD and DTS, tough speakers and an even tougher subwoofer. That's what its all about!

Currently, I am the proud owner of an Onkyo DS-575 Digital Amp and an Onkyo DV-555 DVD player. I need to upgrade the amp though. I need more power!

If you interested in doing some research from the comfort of your chair, try this site for excellent audio reviews, comparisons and up to date product information. Or if you want to know more about home theatre, I have found this site useful. One day, Ill sit down and watch Beavis and Butthead episodes on my TV for 2 days straight. Yeah, cool!

A digital camera. An essential piece of kit - preferably a good quality unit. Something also that you should keep with you all the time. On far too many occasions these have proven to be priceless. Capture that special moment that otherwise you would never get. If you are interested in some product research and the like, try here. Otherwise go out and buy a Sony DSC P9 like mine. They rock.
