Watches.

So I decided to get into watches. Cannot really explain why. Cool stuff really. A hand made time-piece ticking away on your wrist. Knowing something about what it is you are wearing. Or best of all, knowing that no one else knows. That's the best! Watches are cool.

I have a number of favourites - I also have a savings plan on the go for the ones I can't afford.

Check out the following manufacturers. They make the best stuff. I appreciate the following:

BAUME & MERCIER

At the moment, I've got a Jaeger Le-Coultre Master Date and an Omega Speedmaster.

I used to have a Baume and Mercier Hampton but sold it. For my 25th birthday, my dad bought me a 1968 Longines mechanical. Its old, but works a treat. It's here. I also used to have a limited edition Michael Schumacher Omega Speedmaster auto in stainless steel, but sold that too. Check it here. The pieces I have had or have are here. You can also see a long index of pictures of all the pieces I would LOVE to own here

If you are interested in horology (watch stuff), there is a cool book available. Called Wristwatches, is published by Könemann and is some 600 pages long. It costs approximately A$60. It is well worth owning as there is an in depth historical discussion of virtually every watch manufacturer ever, as well a significant number of photographic examples. It is available on order from all major book stores. Even if you hate watches, it will make a good coffee table book.
