Supply and Demand
He was quite fond of the plants in Greenhouse Three.
"One of these days you'll have to tell me just how it is you keep those
plants in line," Professor Sprout had said, a few days after giving him
permission to spend his free time there. "They were a right
handful before you started tending them!"
"It's just a matter of providing them with the right food," he had
explained as briefly as he could.
Locking the door behing himself, he faced a mass of eager vegetation
all focussed on him.
Grinning, he pulled his robes up and his pants down.
Ignoring the moans and groans of her patient, Poppy set about locating
the source of the problem, and extracting it.
"You're not dying. It's just a kidney stone that you're passing."
After some more moaning and groaning from her patient, she finally
finished coaxing the stone out of his urethra.
She stared at it, momentarily speechless, then snuck a glance at her
relieved patient. Ordinarily she would advise a change of diet to
prevent such a problem recurring, but in this case she didn't think it
would be much help.
The tiny vine twitched its ends back towards her patient.
