Land Rover Suffering

Over the years I have been confronted by horrendous scenes caused by the forgotten needs of the humble Land Rover.

The Land Rover is simple and yet a high maintenance animal. Its needs are of great importance for its survival, but sadly there are those who simply do not put in the effort to nurture this highly sensitive creature.

It’s not just the city folks who leave the once proud and beloved family member out in the harsh Australian weather, I have proof of country based Land Rovers suffering, in albeit much different ways. The suffering is wide spread, from Denham on the coast of Western Australia to our own backyards, say in Seaford Victoria.

It is time to make a stand for the dead and dying and endangered Land Rover. Like the Gorillas of Africa, the Texas Ocelot and the Giant Armadillo of South America it’s not to late to save our friend the Land Rover.

The following photographic evidence may prove to be offensive and overpowering to the weak of heart and stomach, but by showing you these photos I hope to stir in you the desire to step up and fight to save not just Land Rovers but Range Rovers from going the way of the Dodo bird.

This poor Series 1 was found huddled under a dead bush near Steep Point Western Australia. The blistering heat of the relentless baking sun first killed the Land Rover then killed the bush that tried to save it.

These 2 photos show a very early 2 door Range Rover. Its once glistering paint now only a vague remembrance of its past glory. The engine that with great gusto announced to the world with its powerful resonance, that 4wd royalty has arrived, now only gathers Spinifex seeds blown over by the dry hot winds of the Australian desert.

No, this isn’t in the deep forest of New Guinea. This still beautiful Series 3 can be found in a suburban back yard being swallowed up like a Gerbil in the clutches of an Anaconda. Without your intervention this Land Rover, (and more like it), will suffer the same fate as that Gerbil.

These photos show how it all started. Simply parked and forgotten. The owners oblivious and therefore undeserving of the trustful dedication a much loved Land Rover will happily offer..

Land Rover once again proving that even in its death it will stay true to its creator and provide a safe harbour for all life forms.

Please don’t treat your Land Rover badly. Remember the next photo taken could be used in evidence against you!
