Thank you from the Seetos! (They're brother and sister for those of you who don't know)

Refer Jana's email... ditto.

For the organisers who made it all possible, a big thank you.

For all who attended the races on Saturday, thank you.

For those who were with us in spirit, thank you.

As you all know, Dragon Boating is more than 20 rowers in a boat. It takes a lot of time and a lot of effort to make it a fun event. People have been known to take time out of their busy schedules to make it all happen, to make it appear enjoyable. As silly as it might appear, these people voluntarily do it, in some cases not because they want to but because they have to. Your job is simple... appreciation. A pat on the back, a thank you, a gesture of appreciation for the hard work they often have do. Don't just disappear after the races. Stick around. Ask if you can help. News flash, try turning up to training once in a while, put a little effort into it, you'd be surprised how effective that can be. It's the small things you do that often make the difference. Just remember, it was your choice to be part of a team. These hard working people are your friends, so pull your finger out and help *as Jana would so eloquently say*. Take for instance, the trophy ceremony. Who of you out there knew that it had been postponed from Saturday till the following day? Yep, no joke. The team appreciates the amount effort ACCA1 put in, to win the trophy, but it doesn't just end at the finish line. Part of the celebration extends to picking up that winning trophy. Hey, the last time I checked, dragon boating is still a team event. So, will all of you join me in thanking Jana for taking time out of yesterday to pick up the winning trophy... which, i believe, can now be found displayed proudly, on a well secured floor, in a house at Cherrybrook ;) ok. enough of the lecture. So when's the celebration BBQ.

Unc.

ps. Let's Kick Butt in Canberra.

Hi All,

On behalf of the team I'd like to thank a few ppl -

* The paddle carriers (Jana, Casey, Corinna, Sam/Simon, Dougie, James/Julie, Steve/Sam/Nguyen) - other volunteers are always welcome

* Sponsor Liasons (Corinna, Carolyn and Ange) - without you guys we wouldn't have been able to race

* Uniform organisers (Sam, Steve and Jacq?) - without you guys we wouldn't have looked so good at the races

* Coaches (Ange and Jana) - without you guys we wouldn't have had the style and finesse to race at such a competitive level.

More thank yous

Hey Casey,

Where did you hide the soup spoon in that shot???

Well done ACCA. I'm still hurting even after only two races ... wonder how the other ring-ins went.

Hope to join you guys in more training sessions over the next few weeks. And have a blast in Canberra of course.

Ciao,

Nick

Dear all

The whole weekend I couldn't help but think.....what the hell is 0.26 seconds?

I can only remember two things during the race, staring at ACCA dragon on the rashee in front of me and Clint yelling at us during the last frantic dash at the end...and then it was over!

0.26 seconds the difference.......

Many thanks to the following people:-

Angela - for all the behind the scenes work / preparation / organisation etc. For all the motivational speeches and her persistence with the team ! We all know how much she wanted that elusive CNY trophy and it seems like we let her down ! Don't worry the season has just started and even though it may be harder (550m and all ), we will bring something back !

Bindy / Evan - Again for all the nitty gritty behind the scenes preparation.

Clint / Evan - for steering the boats. I though we must be so very close to winning judging from the desperate yelling from Clint.

Jana / Angela - for coaching and putting us through our paces. For believing in us......

Our pacers ( Corr, Shirley, Sam M, Thuy, Jacqui, Bec and others ) - I reckon one of the toughest jobs on the boat if not the toughest. Tough in any one's language !

The team - Thanks for a great effort on the day ! Proud to be part of a great team and an ACCA - ian.

See you all at training !

Lee

Congratulations from non-attendees

Hi ALL,

Given that you did not win, I guess I will not be drinking in Canberra this year. But lets up the anty, if you win in Canberra I will drink to that, if not I will just watch you guys get drunk instead.

Good to see Ya all on Sat., good luck in next race

Brian

Congratulations from those overseas

Congratulations! Sounds like you guys had one of the best races ever at CNY. 0.26 seconds - How close is that? Seeing you guys in the pictures makes me want to come back to Australia and row with you guys. Great pic of ACCA and Johnny... you guys are famous now!!!

See ya,

Dom

Hey ACCA,

Congratulations for the weekend...must have been one great team effort :)

Wish I could have been there, but unfortunately (fortunately?) I had to leave for Florida :) I'm in Tampa at the moment and for those of you who think I'm bathing in beautiful sunshine, the weather has been miserable - cold and overcast...just like a cold Sydney winter! So there's not gonna be an opportunity to even out my hideous tan marks! Not that I'm gonna be having much time for that since I'm here for work, but hey, there's always time to visit Orlando, Miami etc :)

Congrats again...and btw, love the photos...esp. the one with John Howard in it!

So now ACCA have a claim to fame!

Ray.
