MESSAGE FROM ONE OF OUR MANAGERS!

Hello everyone!

Seeing as it has been a very long time since I sent out a 'warm and fuzzy' email, I thought today would be a good day to do so. Here in starts the 'warm and fuzzy'.........

I saw the Canberra trip as the commencement of a 'coming of age'. As in prior seasons, the team worked well together, rowers supported each other and provided each other with encouragement throughout the weekend. Whether it be for rowing in 3, 4 or even 10 races, through to consuming relatively large quantities of alchohol.... et al.

Or even head butting a dragon boat, or joining another rowing crew mid race.

Our performance was very good and out team spirit was even better. This year, the team came to an agreement about the strategy to be adopted during the 'finals'.

It would be great if we could draw from within ourselves, an even better performance at the Penrith races. I know from my perspective, I see the Penrith races as an opportunity to win EVERYTHING.

This means:

* Come first (quite important)

* Show everyone else, and ourselves what a great team we are and what 'team spirit' is

* Catch up with everyone

There are only a few more training sessions left in which we can prepare for the last event. I know that I have been guilty for not turning up to training recently, BUT I will definitely be putting in more of an effort now (I think I have gotten

rid of the bronchitus, and my back pains will probably disappear a couple of months after the end of the season)

Can I ask that everyone make a concerted effort to turn up to training, and also to respond to any administrative emails that are sent out. Once again, there are a few people who work very hard behind the scenes to make rowing enjoyable and hassle free for everyone else. There are many people who turn up to training regularly to ensure that they are adequately prepared for the races and capable of bringing the best out of themselves.

Please come to training and be prepared for our final and most successful race of the season!
