Why 2CO?
In air, nitrogen:oxygen = 4:1 but
O2(g) + 2C(s) ® 2CO(g)
Why is producer gas such a poor fuel?
Although carbon monoxide has a moderate heat of combustion, only one third of the producers gas is carbon monoxide.
