Recording Quality: A fairly standard 1969 audience recording. The sound is a bit rough to start, but improves as the show goes on. Both '69 fans and hardcore tape collectors will probably be satisfied. There are a few cuts in Dazed And Confused and How Many More Times is incomplete.
Comments: This is a worthwhile release from Totonka, and a step up from the companion piece to this set, Live At The Rockpile. The performance on this one is very nice, and some of the tracks from the unreleased Led Zeppelin II get their debut here. It's a pity that the manufacturer spent all of his money creating a 12 page booklet filled with photos of Robert Plant instead of putting at least one of them on the cover. I find the generic covers of the recent Totonka titles to be pretty substandard. Bottom Line: Audience recording fanatics are encouraged to pick this one up. Jeff Barlow (6/12/97) |
