Services - VCD Slideshow
VCD Slideshows provide interactive slideshows of your pictures.
They are recorded in a format called Video CD (VCD).
VCD was a way of publishing movies on ordinary CD disks,
before DVD was widely available. They could be played
in a VCD player connected to your television or displayed on
your computer using special VCD software and an ordinary
computer CD player. VCD format is also widely
supported by modern DVD players.
The media used for a VCD is an
ordinary recordable Compact Disk. The general features
available on a VCD slideshow are similar to DVD
slideshows with some minor restrictions in audio
support.
Features Summary
- Each "slideshow" consists of
one or more pictures.
- Each VCD can store multiple slideshows.
- Each VCD can hold
approximately 500 pictures.
- Slideshow can be played with
automatic slide advancement at a rate you decide at the
time of purchase.
- Normal DVD/VCD control features such
as forward, back, pause, play, zoom, etc can be used to
manually control a slide show
- Usage instructions will be
included with each VCD.
Audio Capability
It is possible to add an audio background to a VCD slideshow
however some slideshow control functions must be sacrificed if
this is done. Snapshot-Archive does not support audio
backgrounds on VCD slideshows.
General Recommendation
We recommend the purchase of a "Basic
Scanning" disk with all our non-computer slideshow
formats. A "Basic Scanning" disk is a
re-useable archive of your digitized images. This
provides a low cost basis for ordering other formats in the future, or
for creating a replacement tape if your slideshow is
lost or damaged.
