(Need I say more?)
Oh well... If I must then.
Suffice to say that this is the efforts of one member of my local anime club to show his
love for the wonderful animation that is known in the West as the Samurai Pizza Cats.
As a bit of a sideline, it was originally known
as Kyatto Toninden Teyande (which is loosely translated sometimes as
"Stealth Tales of the Cool Cat Gang") or as Cat Shinobi Legend Teyandeh
(as it is written in very small letters on the cover of the tankobon) in Japan where it
was not really that popular and, in fact, only 6 video tapes (12 episodes! Boohoo) were
ever released and absolutely no LDs (so don't expect to ever see a fansub of the original
Japanese!!!). There was an actual manga that continued the story after the end of the TV
series, but it only lasted about 4 issues before disappearing into obscurity. Having said
that though, the show that we have seen and loved (or hated) here in the West has
completely reworked scripts and soundtracks (only a couple bits of music were kept from
the original). Many, many things are different from the original Japanese version so I
wouldn't be surprised if the Japanese actually loved it in this new incarnation :)
The story continueth. I have been showing 4
pages a month of this fan comic (dojinshi anybody?) in the Anime Present newsletter and
been touching up the borders and words on my computer here at home... Finally I realised
that I had enough to start slapping it up on the web. So here it is!
NOTE: AAAAARRRGGGHHHH! That's a cry for help from anyone who was getting the newsletter, has scanner/graphics program and would like to e-mail the last 8 pages of the comic. Sadly, I seem to have lost the originals somewhere :(
