We were off to dive the Royal Shepherd, a wreck at 30 m between Sydney Heads. We were on one of Dive Centre Manly's Cats. A good boat. Jason was the captain.
Jason hooked the wreck a couple of times. But the swell kept pulling the Anchor out. And straightened a couple of the ' forks '!
We decided to go elsewhere to test the pony bottles Tony had rigged up. That's how we ended up at ' The Gap Cave '.
You wouldn't think and extra 7.7lb hanging of one side of your bottle would feel much different. But it does! The whole time it was pulling on my BCD, making me think one shoulder strap was loose. Which it wasn't!
Illana and I got to the bottom ( 23.4 m ) and Tony was still on the anchor line. When I saw the anchor just up and move. Away from me! It seemed just a little presumptuous of it to run away when we only had about a metre's visibility.
So I grabbed Illana's hand and started a new game, chase the anchor. A quick look up saw Tony still on the line. And there was a mutual decision to go up.
