The forecast was NE wind 10/15 knots. Sea 1 to 2 metres. Swell 1 to 1.5 metres.
We went out about an hour after low tide.
This was the most pleasant ride I have had on this boat. The swell turned out to be very low.
Our first dive on the Valiant. Got down to 26 m. Visibility was about one metre on the way down. But it increased to about ten under the thermocline.
Peered through some holes in the side and then came back up.

Here's what Illana had to say :

Down to 26.3 metres and the old tug boat was lying on its side. The good thing was the flat sea. we went out at 9.30 am and no wind. Easy to gear up, Stephen even felt comfortable. It really is a shitty little boat to get in and out of though, and the guy running it is not filled with patience or the milk of human kindness. Great to pop over the wreck and stick your head in the engine room etc. Vis was around 10 metres down there, but bad on the way down.

Mark drove the boat. Not a good feeling.

The dive was good enough though. 27 metres for half an hour ( 15 minutes on the bottom). I saw the Valiant appear out of the gloom as a we descended. On the bottom it looked much the same as last time. This time we looked at the bow rather than the stern.

I stood on the bottom of the ocean for the first time.

A very nice uneventful dive

Last time we tried to dive the Valiant from Diver Transport we didn't get there, because of interference from Mark.

This time Ian dove with us. After arranging a friend to look after his boat. We went to Church Point with Ian and Stephen and saw two penguins playing as Ian got his boat ready

Down we went and had a quick look around the stern. Then Ian took us into the Galley. Our first wreck penetration. Which of course is against the rules we have been taught. However it is a very easy penetration.
