After a few years of settlement in Australia Ukrainians realised that they were not going to go "home" to Ukraine and that their final resting place was to be here in Australia. With the encouragement and advice of their clergy, Ukrainians sought to have their burial plots in a Ukrainian Section in one of the largest cemeteries in Australia.
The first section was quickly filled up with many of the first generation of immigrants.
This section is known as the monument section because of the monuments and headstones erected in memory of the deceased.

The next section is the first of the Lawn section and is also now virtually filled up.
Ukrainians have also managed to secure a third section which is close by to the first Ukrainian Lawn Section.
Due to the efforts of Fr Ivan Szewciw and the parishioners a Ukrainian chapel was built close to all three sections. It is envisioned that our clergy will be buried in this beautiful chapel.
