There are many skills to players' repertoires. They be separated into BASIC and ADVANCED.

I classify Basic skills as the ability to snorkel - to actually be able to take part in the game.

Advanced skills are those that show control over the puck and opposition players.

The clip below shows a basic turn. Often a turn is begun during a tackle. Once possession is obtained it is tempting to simply pass. Much better results occur if you swim then pass. The team knows better where the pass will go and it gets the opposition chasing you.
