Another Burner

Pieces are from left 1" gal pipe with 4,  9/16" holes. Aluminium piece, push fit into pipe. Aluminium piece sliding fit into other piece, there is a MIG tip (M6x1) screwed into it with about 1.15mm jet hole.

You can see the MIG tip, and the small grub screw (M4x0.7) holding the Aluminium bush in place. You can't see it but there is a M6x1 grub screw in the bush holding the Aluminium pipe in place. The Aluminium pipe has 1/4" BSP male thread on it to suit cock.

Ahrrrr beautiful. I have the burner just poked loosely into a larger piece of pipe so the flame will keep going. I will make a tapered piece for the end soon for further testing. I will also make a sliding air restrictor to be adjustable over the air holes.

I machined the Aluminium pieces on my little lathe. The burner is based on those seen on Ron Reils site and ideas from Rupert Wenig's Mini-Mongo Burner. I have plenty of this pipe about and just wanted to use it without buying any threaded fittings. I bought 2 of the taps this morning and some extra brass nipples so will make another burner exactly the same. Am planning to fit two to a new furnace in the not too distant future, hopefully!!!
