Fairly easy pattern to make, I used scrap packing case pine. The radius between the round extension and the body is automotive body filler applied with a small spatula then smoothed with a wet finger. Only a little sanding was required on the filler after it hardened. I saw this little project on Harlan's Hide-Out I made mine to different dimensions to suit my lathe. I also made my pattern one piece. I did it with a two piece pattern first but found it very easy to tilt the extension piece when ramming the cope.

Casting done and a little machining done on the face where the indicator mounts. I drilled and tapped to M6x1.

Mounted in tool post.

Another view.

All painted and looking pretty.

Pic from the front of the lathe.
