My First split pattern on plate Pg2

All screw and dowel holes now bogged and the lot painted.

Top side also painted.

I have the sprue hole former located on its location dowel. It is not permanently mounted it is just held in place during the ramming up of the cope. The top parts have to line up with the underside parts.

My first casting using the mounted pattern. Top side.

Bottom side. With the pattern, gate and runner etc mounted on a "plate" it makes ramming up the flask much easier than having to cut gates etc by hand.

I am starting on a new split and mounted pattern.

These are handy home made small sanding boards. These are handy for sanding in small places. Just thin bits of pine about 4 or 6 inches long  with sand paper glued on each side. I have coarse on one side and fine on other side.
