A mate of mine got this lathe at a good price. Needs a few repairs and bits and pieces to be made for it, the beds are in pretty good nick. He (and I) would like to know the make of it.

The leadscrew and saddle drive shaft stick out the bracket on the end.

The spindle thread, where the chuck screws on is 1&1/2" BSP(11TPI). It's possibly an Australian made lathe, there used to be a few Aussie manufacturers years ago.

The compound slide adjusting screws are on the back side. You can see that there are plenty of T slots on the saddle.

Stamped on the bed at workhead end is EGC6358. Maybe a manufacturers stamp?

View of behind apron from headstock end. No half nuts for the worm, somebody has swiped them!!! I couldn't work out where the worm engagement stuff fitted during the quick look at it that I had.

View of behind apron from tailstock end.

Close up of tailstock. Look closely, the key way is towards the left end of the tailstock.

Quite a nice size spindle hole, it's 40mm (1-9/16").
