Scrap To Ingots

Here are 16 pistons out of  International 345 CID V8 engines. The heads have been parted off of the skirt part of the pistons.

This is the resulting ingots from the melt of the above pistons.

Bell-housing and gearbox extension housing.

The ingots on the small stool are from the bell-housing and extension housing. The ingots to left of centre-line of larger stool are the Inter Pistons. To the right of centre-line are whats left of  ingots from Ford 6 cyl 250CID pistons, some from Toyota 2R 4 cyl pistons and some various other scrap.

Renault engine and gearbox/transmission. There's another gearbox/transmission in the background behind the rusty camshaft and crankshaft. Now just have to get around to dismantling it. The workshop manual at the library says that the trans housing is Aluminium, I'll investigate further to see if it's a Magnesium alloy. I'll have to find more things to cast to use up the ingots I already have before worrying about melting this lot.
