End parts of wobbler. End cap, plunger, spring and main body.

The plunger(sliding rod) is a close sliding fit in main body, the smaller diameter end of the sliding piece has a few thou clearance in end cap.

A mock up of how the wobbler is used. The pointed end is placed in a centre pop mark on the work piece and the other end is compressed on the centre in the tailstock.

Now when the job is rotated by hand the wobbler shows how much run out there is. The position of the job is adjusted until the job end of the wobbler is running true. This is a nice little project, didn't take that long to make, wish I'd have had one of these a long time ago, the more nick-nacs the better :) :)
