A Conscious Experience

I'm currently reading "Consciousness Explained" by Daniel Dennett - a wonderfully clear exposition of the phenomenon of consciousness. Also reading the "Philosophy of Social Hope" by Richard Rorty, recommended to me by David Weinberger. This is also a remarkable book. I've not studied philosphy formally any time, so there is a bit of back-tracking and looking up dictionaries, but it is very readable. As I explore the ideas of both these writers on the Internet, I find people either love them or hate them. I'm one who loves them. I find lots and lots of "resonance" - that is, ideas well expressed, capturing something I know I've believed was right, yet previously I could not find words for.
