The biggest event
in 5th Brighton's history happened in 2002 - our spring fling in Magnetic
Island!!
Magnetic Island is a mainland island off Townsville, QLD. It has
over 20 beautiful beaches and bays, and is mostly National Park.
19 girls
from our unit (including some ranger guides) and 4 girls from nearby Highett
Guides flew all the way from Melbourne to Townsville, then boarded a ferry for a
week in the sun!
It was a lot of preparation and fundraising, but SO much
fun--we will never forget it!
Here are some of our photos--enjoy!
It all began on the 22nd September 2002, when 28 intrepid explorers boarded a Virgin Blue flight to
Townsville...
| Here we are at the 'chunky check-in' area--"how appropriate for our leaders" one girl remarks…
|
 |
| (Our special uniform was designed by the girls--a white T-shirt reading "Chicks on Camp", and you'll see the matching sarongs when we get there.) |
 |
By sunset we were on the ferry across to Magnetic Island...

Below are some photos
I didn't know where else to put ;) |
