EMAIL
To turn on my computer
is the first thing I do,
then to check out my email
for something from you
I can always be sure
for a smile of the day,
as I read what you write
I hear what you say
I haven't yet met you
but I know you quite well,
you're always so giving
with nothing to sell
to me that is important
it shows you are true,
when I think of a friend
I first think of you

EVERGREEN

It seems like
forever
that I've been
sitting here,
gazing upon the
waters
that runs
crystal clear
As it trickles
through my
toes
that dangle over
the side,
I watch a leaf
float by
taking
butterflies for
a ride
The birds in the
distance
are mating or
making nest,
there is a
deafening
silence
as the world
takes its rest
The light from
the stars
and the moon up
above,
with a radiance
of colour
show the meaning
of love
I could stay
here forever
in this quiet
autumn serene,
watching
autumn's nature
grow
in this
beautiful
evergreen

EMPTINESS

I open the door
I walk inside,
there's an empty
feeling I cannot
hide,
I look around
the feeling is
cold,
the moment is
lifeless
there is nothing
to hold
Looking at the
fireplace
the cinders are
low,
remembering the
nights
when they were
all aglow
There's a sock
near
the corner
laying on floor,
a jacket on a
coat
stand by the
front door
Walking to the
window
all streaky dry
and bleak,
only sign of
dampness
are the tears
down my cheek
I take a deep
breath
I look all
around,
a leaf
fluttering
by is the only
sound
On the pavement
lies a bowl
near it lies a
bone,
as my arms wrap
around me
I don't feel
alone
I know I have
one thing
no one can take
from me,
what lies in my
heart
of a beautiful
memory

EMPTY
My heart is
crumbling
in a broken
shell,
does anyone care
who can I tell
I am feeling
empty
but not feeling
free,
the only voice I
hear
is coming from
me
I sit here
listening
my hands to my
ears,
my lips are
tasting
the salt from my
tears
My words are
mumbled
like a softened
moan,
with the
realization
I am all alone
Why is my life
empty
as I watch it
pass by,
I know I must
move on
but I continue
to cry

END OF THE
DAY
He came home
from work
after a long
hard day,
the children
were told
to keep out of
his way
Sitting at the
table
his paper laid
out,
he asks for a
beer
you fetch him a
stout
As he takes it
he says
"thank you my
dear"
you then start
to tell him
what you want
him to hear
How the children
were naughty
they were caught
throwing stones,
the dog dug up
the garden
in search of his
bones
The washer is
flooding
with water on
the floor,
he wonders if
you are finished
but you continue
with more
You tell him
there's a
meeting
tonight at the
school,
he's expecting
his mate
they're going to
play pool
You show him the
bills
that came in
that day
he says "don't
worry"
you put them
away
It's time to get
dinner
with him sitting
there,
he's finished
for the day
not going
anywhere
You wonder what
it's like
to work an eight
hour day,
to relax after
work
for a reasonable
pay
But that's a
passing thought
you wouldn't
change it for
quid's,
you have your
hubby
and your
beautiful kids

EXPLORE

My nose
pressed on the
window
as I gaze into
the night,
as the formation
of the clouds
pass the stars
glittering
bright
To hear the
sound of music
a far distance
down the way,
Gives an
overwhelming
feeling
like the one I
had today
Twas the feeling
of adventure
to explore the
hidden field,
To walk away
from my being
and the shadows
that I shield
As I leave a day
behind
a new one has
appeared,
They are not
days of the past
nor the days
that I once
feared

EMOTIONS

As I caress the
thoughts
like dreams in
the night,
while watching
the sunset
fade out of
sight
In a moment of
tenderness
without any
care,
in a moment of
weakness
it was ours to
share
When emotions
run strong
your desires are
deep,
there will
always be love
in the memories
you'll keep
