RECIPE OF LOVE
I started to notice
the clouds disappear,
then my dreams faded
the ones that caused fear
I saw that the stars again
shone brightly in the sky,
then I stopped asking questions
I stopped wondering why
You gave me a reason to smile
you helped my tears fade away,
You taught me how to love
in that very special way
You gave me all this
in this our short time together,
it's a recipe called 'love'
where ingredients last forever

RAG DOLL

It was a little
rag doll
I held her so
tight,
I'd never give
her up
without a good
fight
Her hair was
yellow
matted and thin,
she had been
abandoned
and thrown in a
bin
I rescued her
showered her
with love,
she was chosen
to me
from God up
above
So if you have a
doll
tender her with
care,
give love and
devotion
she will always
be there

RAGS TO RICHES
When I looked up
I felt rather surprised,
so many changes
I would not have recognized
The once grey hair
now blonde with style,
the pale wan face
laced with a lipstick smile
The clothes once so crumpled
giving a look of obese,
now worn with grace
with no sign of a crease
Her bare feet that lived
in slippers so worn,
now with heeled shoes
and stockings adorn
This lady is my aunt
would not be noticed in a crowd,
now looks so beautiful
with a reason to be proud
Realizing that her life
was passing her by,
only one way to keep up
was give it a go and try
I am proud of my aunt
who put herself to the test,
she has proved to be a winner
to me she is the best

REMEMBER
DAD

There isn't a
day of any year
that you don't
come to mind
even to find an
hour
would be very
hard to find
I know I'll
never forget
the times we had
together
for you will
always be my dad
as well as my
friend forever
When I go to
visit you
and place
flowers by your
side
the words that
flow from me
are words I
often cried
You will never
be alone dad
for you will
always be
within my
thoughts and
heart
and the eyes for
you to see
The many people
that love you
they miss you so
much
your golden
voice of
kindness
along with your
gentle touch

REMEMBER
WHEN
Remember
when we met
that very first
day,
you were all
alone
so I asked you
to play
Together we
outgrew dolls
our balls and
our toys,
we went out to
dances
with only eyes
for boys
I remember the
time
it was our very
first date,
we had to be
home early
we were home
very late
We did this
quite often
in our very
early years,
I remember the
groundings
and all of our
tears
When there was a
party
we would never
go alone,
we would compare
our stories
next morning by
phone
We swapped our
clothes
did each others
hair,
the love of
music
was something to
share
Then came the
day
you met the man
of your life,
in no time at
all
you were husband
and wife
In time you were
blessed
with a beautiful
son,
I was overjoyed
when asked
would I be his
Godmum

REMEMBERING
As I sit in
silence
pondering over
years,
remembering
disappointments
and overwhelming
fears
But the years
that I cherish
are ones that
made me smile,
they helped me
discover
that life was
worthwhile
There was never
a road
we could not
travel down,
that before we
reached the end
we were not
forced to frown
There will
always be
a door that
locks,
That time in
your life
that takes hard
knocks
It was in all of
those years
that taught me a
lot,
What I have
learnt
I have never
forgot

REMEMBER
THE TIME

I remember the
time
you were sewing
your dress,
the hole in the
needle
was causing you
stress
I then walked
over
I became your
eyes,
remarking the
eye should be
a more
reasonable size
Remember the
time
we went out in
your car,
you were the
driver
we didn't get
far
The car in need
of petrol
the fuel gauge
read dry,
you looked in
astonishment
I didn't ask why
we decided to
get out
go hitch for a
ride,
a truck came to
our aid
we both got
inside
What about the
time
you burnt that
cake,
you still claim
it read
two hours to
bake
You have never
changed
in these years
together,
I still depend
on you
like I do the
weather
But one thing is
for sure
you should never
do,
is to change
your ways
that made me
love you
