The waters
run deep
I cannot swim,
the night is
dark
the light is dim
A mountain too
high
I try climbing
in vain,
the hole in my
heart
causing great
pain
The path is long
and never
ending.
my feelings are
torn
in need of
mending
As long as I can
determine
what is right
from wrong.
I shall never
give up
I have a will
that is too
strong

STOLEN YEARS
Why did they strip me
of my respect and self esteem.
destroy all I had worked for
to my future and my dream
To make the world around me
become so ugly and grey,
no amount of soap or water
could wash that dirt away
What gave them the right
to take away my pride,
I smashed up all my mirrors
but the ugliness I could not hide
I'm told that I am still me
that nothing would ever change,
but if that is how it is
I need help to rid this mange
I need to work towards a goal
in hope that my life mends,
the reason I have for doing this
is the support from many friends

SALE
The streets are overcrowded
the stores will soon be packed,
the aisles will soon be filled
the shelves have been stacked
The doors are still locked
as the clock ticked around,
people mingling everywhere
yet not a word or sound
The days had rolled quickly by
for that sale of the year,
the one we all saved for
that brought us all here
Some wanted large things
others were after small,
some wanted to just peruse
buying nothing at all

SANTA IS COMING
As Santa approaches my roof
through a clouded sky of grey,
the moon is glowing bright
on his snow laden sleigh
Checking out the chimneys
and the size of their gap,
knowing when his night was over
he could take a well earned nap
The bags were no longer heavy
after his delivery of the gifts,
morning was slowing arriving
for he works all the night shifts
Then after his chore is over
you're wondering "where does he go?"
he takes all his reindeers and elves
and they head back toward the snow

STORM OF FREEDOM
Darkened clouds
awake them
the storm was
building high,
mountains once a
beauty
hide beneath an
angry sky
The noise
partially
deafening
as winds built
up a gale,
the strongest of
all the people
were relied on
to help the
frail
Lightning
flashing
overhead
was like a
lantern across
the sky,
waves wildly
lashed all round
us
more treacherous
and rather high
It was like
reaching the end
of the line
my life flashing
in front of me,
memories that I
thought I'd
forgotten
and a fear that
I could not set
free

I gather with my friends
we chat and talk a while,
my mind is diverted
I send you a smile
I try to hide the feeling
that I hold deep inside,
I want to let them out
these thoughts I need to hide
Then I wonder if you know
these feelings that I hold,
I dare not tell you
for the fear of being bold
I remember back to when we met
I knew it was the start,
when you held out your hand
was when you touched my heart
Now I have these dreams
they show how much you care,
but I really wish you'd tell me
there's so much that we could share

SPIDER DRINK
I saw the legs of a spider
float upon your drink,
well I am sure it was a spider
I am positive I think
Well don't look now
there's nothing there to see,
cause before you drank it
you should have asked me
don't worry what sort it was
it's not there any more,
but If you had asked me
I would have told you before
You just picked up your glass
and in one mouthful it did melt,
your drink with the spider
not caring how it felt
