Making Textures to dress your Poser people.

Part II

OK, so now you have your basic Poser chick. She's the one in the People section, standing just below the dorky bloke! Not much to say in this little box really...

Now you wouldn't want her to get arrested for indescency would you, so you better put some clothes on her. Start with the plain old generic Leotard. You will find it in the Figures/Clothing section. I have coloured it blue so that you can see it in my tiny pics but the default colour is orange!

You have to conform it to the chick, and you will see, just below her, in the left corner... the words Figure 2....(you can jump between the different figures using this, check it and see.. Figure 1 is the chick, Figure 2 is the Leotard!)

*handy hint* If you have trouble getting hair to fit right, make sure you have Figure 1 selected before you add the hair, then it should land right on top of her head!

Go up to the top menu and select Figure, then "conform to" and choose Figure 1. You will see that the Leotard now fits snuggly on the chicky.

This is where the touchy stuff starts. First you have to go to the top menu and choose Render, then Materials, and you will see a lovely grey box just like the one on the left. Choose Figure 2, and Materials, then see if you can make things look like they do in this picture!
Highlight=1%, Transparency Min=100%,
Transparency Max=100% and Transparency Falloff=0.000
Remember to find and load your textures or this will just be a waste of time! Texture goes where it says Texture Map and Transparency goes where it says.... yep, you guessed it! I forgot to do it in this one, but change your Reflective Colour to black, it's the coloured bar on the far right. If you don't do this, then the transparent bits will end up all shiny and plastic looking.

OK, you ready for more? Then click for the next page!!!
